The United States of America consulate in Lagos has said the U.S government will not discuss Atiku’s American visa status as it’s confidential and will not discuss such confidentiality in public.
The Public Affairs Officer [PAO] of the consulate in Lagos Mr. Brussel Brooks said on Friday, according to him, issuance of visa to Nigerians irrespective of their social standing is strictly a confidential matter.
He made this known to the journalist during an education forum held at the distance learning center University of Ibadan, he said “Anyone who applies for a visa should know that there will be some records that are confidential. It is classified as private documents by the United States government and will never discuss them in public “He therefore urged candidates at all levels to focus on issue based campaigns and avoid distractions.
The programme, an educational forum was organized by the Fulbright Language Scholars’ Association of Nigeria and funded by the United States Consulate. The programme was organized for 150 teachers and students drawn from various public schools in Oyo state.
