The management of Channel Television may be forced to produce a copy of the interview with the senator representing the Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Senator Isah Misau.
The most wanted interview is said to contain detailed clips of allegations where the Senator was said to spread falsehood against the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
Senator Misau who is currently standing trial was charged with the allegation of falsely accusing the office of the Inspector General of Police of collecting millions of naira from police officers seeking promotion in the service and falsely alleging sexual misconduct against Mr. Idris.
Senator Misau who was initially charged with a five count charge during the Monday prosecution was amended from five to seven counts charge.
Counsel to the petitioner Mr. Alex Izinyon speaking shortly after yesterday’s sitting said the reason the court will subpoena Channels TV is to help show the court the video of the discussion Mr. Misau allegedly had with the media wherein the allegedly false information was disseminated.
According to Premium Times, the allegation came shortly after the senator engaged in series of verbal war with the IGP.
Recall that sometime in 2017, the police IG Ibrahim Idris alleged that Misau left the police force without properly executing his retirement, an allegation the police service commission latter denied.
