The East Senatorial District of Beyelsa Sate in the 8th senate, Ben Bruce Murray yesterday August 27th was a advocate keynote speaker at the International Youth Conference tagged, “The Future is now” and organization should working to empower the youths for national development.
Senator Ben Murray Bruce, use the youth conference to address and urged Nigerian youths to see the country beyond a pro-youth outlook and not a pro-PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) or pro-APC (All Progressives Congress) perspective.
Bruce advised the youth to look beyond partisan politics affinity and seek for the amendment of the constitution that will made the inclusion of the youth in government compulsory and constitutional.
The #Commonsense advocate also tasked the government to provide opportunities for the youths as a way of tackling insurgency and militancy in the country.
Most Nigerian youths were dived along party lines following the 2015 elections.
“I advise youths not to look at Nigeria from a pro PDP or APC perspective, but with a pro youth outlook. Your future is greater than a party.
If governments focus on providing opportunity for their people, they will not have to focus on fighting insecurity amongst their people.
Terrorism and militancy thrive where youths don’t have opportunities. Provide youths with opportunities and these problems will disappear,” he posted on his Twitter handle.
